And I’m damn proud…because according to this wonderful article (thank you Abo),  short people are BETTER than tall people…in that they are more likely to live longer. Of course, this is a very bold statement and probably not factual, but in my heart I feel it must be true.

To take this notion one step further, I decided to do some serious statistical analysis (Abo, you could learn from me). According to Wikipedia, the tallest man in history is Robert Wadlow at a “Fellowish” 8 ft 11.1 inches. And so I asked myself…How long did Bob live? 22 years! The shortest man in history is Gul Mohammed at a “Bowmazing” 1 ft 10.5 inches. Holy shit…you read that right, I said one foot ten and one-half inches tall. And so I asked myself…How long did GulMo live? 40 years!

“One small step for man; one giant leap for shortkind.”

So you heard it hear folks, short people sure as hell aren’t short-lived.

Well well…another Labor Day Weekend at the Gorge with Dave Matthew Band.

Looking back on the weekend, it all feels so surreal…and that may or may not be a result of the fact that my mind and body are still not fully functional.

Before I move on, THANKS TO JUSTIN Bberry FOR NOT ONLY ORGANIZING OUR TRAVEL BUT ALSO DRIVING. You did an excellent job sir.

So…what else happened? So much in fact, it’s hard to explain anything at all.

I got lost on Saturday night at the concert…and in feeling sorry for myself i bought the $10 chicken strip meal and went and sat by myself, and loathed. And then I walked back to camp…and got lost again. I don’t even feel that stupid knowing now that the 12 other retards I was with also got lost at some point in the festivities.

Drake – what can I say? Nice job drinking multiple bottles of wine, and then Idaho Silver (with corn nuts??), and then passing out and not making it to the concert….especially when two days prior you held up the departure by forgetting those tickets. Karma?

How did John Mitchell make it through the weekend without one fight? Congrats.

Many games were played and much fun was had.

We should plan on doing it again next year.

Alright folks…Now I’m getting serious. I’m introducing all of you (or nobody, I don’t give two shits) to the best of the Best. George Best is one of the greatest soccer players ever. He was quick, smart, irish, and, of course, an absolute drunk & womanizer. Before I go on, gracias to el Rakow for showing me what’s Best. Let’s start with a few quotes from Georgie himself (and if these don’t grab your attention then just leave):

“I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.”

“I used to go missing quite a lot… Miss Canada, Miss United Kingdom, Miss World.”

Best was a Northern Ireland footballer that not only played for Manchester United, but put the team on the World map. The guy had pace (on the field & off)…and believe me when I say that words cannot describe how impressive he was. An extremist in every way, Best was the original celebrity footballer. He makes Beckham look like a pussy. After quick soccer success at Manchester United he was dubbed “O Quinto Beatle” (The Fifth Beatle) by the press. He dated supermodels, drank surmountable amounts of booze, and showed wittiness comparable to Fletch himself.

Here’s a few quotes about George Best:

“The closest I got to him was when we shook hands at the end of the game.” (Northampton Town player Roy Fairfax, who had been marking Best when he scored six goals in an 8-2 FA Cup win for Man Utd in 1970.)

Did I mention George enjoyed a drink or two? Or forty? He spent time in prison for drunk driving (multiple times) and assaulting police. He announced publicly his bout with alcoholism and later underwent a liver transplant. And kept drinking. Best died at age 59 and alcohol was clearly the primary factor.
