This story breaks my heart, that people can be so self absorbed as to insult a “perfect stranger” by ignoring them. I find myself drawn to others whom are different than myself, cultural diversity is sorely lacking in Idaho. Being from the deep south, I am starved for the company of people of diverse backgrounds. My husband and I run a Certified Naturally Grown farm in Camas County and would love to “host” a refugee couple, to have them help us, help them. Times are hard, for everyone…by sticking together, it may be possible for all of us to get by.

Common Ground is an amazing work!
I am continually impressed with how it has all come together, and how Tara has networked and welcomed so many to help and get involved. The refugee community is being served and we are made better people by working with them. I also continue to learn from the refugees. Thanks everyone who is making this happen!

My experience with Common Ground has expanded my world. Not only do I get to interact with people from all over the globe, it has caused me to really see my community and the people I connect with every day. It’s like my day-to-day life has gone from black and white to color! I love the energy, purpose and friendships Common Ground has brought into my life.
