About Us

Common Ground is a program of The Momentum Group.
We help you help people.

We create economic independence for those who have the least within the international community. Here in your neighborhood.

Think big, start small, scale fast.

We have created Common Ground here in Boise (phase I), eventually to be rolled out nationwide.

Common Ground is an experiential job-training program for the refugee community. We provide industry-wide job and language skills in a ‘classroom meets lab’ setting.  We focus on job specific language acquisition–primarily through simulated conversational instruction and interactive learning.  We do on-site job-training at a variety of entry-level job locations (restaurants, hotels, etc.).  We emphasize customer service and cashier skills, restaurant job skills (dishwashing, busing, serving, etc.), hotel and housekeeping, janitorial work, laundry, grocery, warehouse, and packing skills, among other job readiness preparation.

Common Ground’s “Eat Local, Live Global” project is a small-farm job training and development site that launched in the early months of 2009.  At the farm, we employ and train refugees for agricultural work, or work in other industries.  Our farm is a feed + sell model.  We feed members of the refugee community and others in need through the Idaho Foodbank.  We also sell farm shares to members of the community interested in local + organice produce that supports a great cause!  Common Ground’s farm site had a tremendously successful first year of operation.
